Scottish Highlands Expeditions
Our highly experienced and knowledgeable staff can guide you through the astounding beauty of the Scottish mountains, varying from one day tours of Ben Nevis to multi day expeditions through remote Knoydart or the far flung mountains of Assynt and Stac Polly.
We are qualified to lead in the Scottish mountains both in
Summer and Winter so whatever time of year you plan
your trip just give us a bell. In winter we can provide any appropriate equipment such as ice axes and crampons,
ropes, maps etc.
Perhaps you might like to ascend one of the Ben Nevis or Creag Megaidh gullies in Winter or traverse the Cairngorm plateaux on a bothy to bothy tour.
We also run 2 day snow caving trips when the conditions are favourable, walking into the mountains and spending a day learning where snow holes are appropriate and the skills and equipment needed to dig and live in them comfortably. Then spend a night in one! Often a short night time walk is included. We provide all needed equipment and instruction.
Improve your skills! Hire Wolf Expeditions to teach or improve your navigation and mountain craft skills. Our staff have wide experience from leading groups on Nevis in storm to being waist deep in snow on high Himalayan routes, so whether you are a novice walker or aspiring to go for your Summer or Winter mountain leader, a day or two spent in the hills with our staff will improve your confidence and ability greatly.

If it is your first trip to the Highlands and don’t know what mountains you would like to see just get in touch and some good itineraries for your experience level can be suggested. We do not provide rock or ice climbing sessions at this moment in time however - our programs are for walkers.
All technical equipment can be provided, just bring yourselves and a clothing system appropriate for the time of year (if you are unsure what clothing to bring just ask in advance!). For any overnight itineraries then sleeping bags and insulating mats are not provided unless arranged in advance.
Due to the small and personal nature of Wolf Expeditions sometimes all our staff can be away in the European Alps or Himalaya, and because of this there can sometimes be a delayed response to enquiries, any inconvenience is sincerely regretted as all custom is really appreciated.
